Starting work at 8am and finishing at 8pm as a beauty therapist means I've heard a lot of stories, not to mention the gossip, by the time I am ready to leave work!
But that’s not where the fun stops. As well as meeting all the passengers, there are always new faces within the crew, so its important to mix and mingle as much as possible so that you can keep up with all the exciting news. One event that has been particularly good fun was the "job swap" themed disco night so all the different departments within the ship's company swapped their uniforms and donned a new identity for the evening!
Obviously the whole point of a cruise is visiting exciting and exotic ports whilst enjoying all the luxury of a 5 star ship. On this cruise, we have been sailing around the Mediteranian, so all the ports have been really picturesque and very hot!
During the cruise I have had 3 days off, including days in Barcelona and Gibraltar, which means cheap alcohol and lots of shopping! Seeing all these fantastic places on each cruise definitely makes you realise how great your job is and equals out all the hard work you put in to your busy days in the salon. In what other job could you say you have a different view from the office window every day?
Getting back on the ship after visiting all these lovely places, I usually finish the day off by jumping in the pool and watching the sunset, knowing that tomorrow I'll be somewhere different again.
