 Beginning each day at 7.50am, I will have my treatment room ready for clients throughout the day.
Before starting with my first client of the day, I do forearm stretches & self massage in order to prepare myself.
Now ready to see my first client, I will take a detailed consultation form to confirm any contraindications to massage which will ensure I perform the treatment as safely as possible and also make me aware of any ailments that need attention.
As a therapist onboard it is my job to listen and discuss with my clients exactly what their needs are, as their goals direct the flow of each individual session. This can range from aromatherapy massage, postural complaint at a certain joint, to fluid retention. At this time I have to decide what treatment will be most beneficial from massage to reflexology, holistic therapy to body wraps.
I also feel it is important to teach my clients how to use products at home. Therefore I will prescribe specially blended oils or stretching exercises to help a recurring problem.
Being a full time therapist onboard requires a consistent base of energy so enjoying a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle makes the world of difference, as does visiting all the fabulous ports of call.
At the end of each day it is my responsibility to ensure the cleanliness of my treatment
room and be ready for another day of therapy with a whole new client base.
No day is ever the same onboard and the number of fascinating people you meet is truly remarkable.
