As Spa Manager onboard it is my duty to prepare all staff and salon for the day ahead.
As we open the Spa at 7.50am ready for our first clients at 8am, I ensure all staff are ready, presentable, but most importantly on time, especially when we have a formal evening as these are our busiest days.
As the day begins I make sure all equipment is running and divide my time between the office and reception desk to take appointments and greet guests as they arrive for their appointments.
Throughout the day I will answer any guests queries regarding their bills, treatments, appointments and in some instances their complaints, which I have to deal with very diplomatically, as being on a cruise ship they may take their complaint to the Hotel Director onboard. Therefore it is essential all guests leave happy and satisfied.
As Manager I am responsible for all team targets which I set on daily , weekly , and cruise basis each team member is responsible for reaching their targets with my guidance and training in product knowledge and treatment promotion.
As the day progresses I liase with Head Office regarding figures, comments from the cruise and any issues I may have with staff. Also I will do full stock inventory checks of all retail and professional products and from this fill out appropriate stock orders.
Being onboard I have to work closely with Hotel operations to ensure we provide the best client care possible and with other departments offer cross promotions to generate revenue.
Working on Cruise Liners is like working with a large family and at no time do you ever feel alone. There's always a helping hand and a warm smile to greet you at the end of a hard day.
