The Academy, based in Southampton, opened in August 2004.

All staff spend time there prior to embarking a ship. Experienced staff also join us at the Academy for management training as their career with Hardings progresses. The Academy has the facility to train staff on all treatments available on our menus as well as more general presentation and passenger consultation interaction skills.

The period of time spent at the Academy depends on previous experience but is usually between two and five weeks. Accommodation is made available for overseas staff wherever possible. At the end of the period of training there is an examination that the member of staff needs to pass in order to be sent to a ship.

The Academy has been set up as a fully operational spa facility and towards the end of the training staff utilize their newly acquired skills on members of the public prior to embarking a ship.
